Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistants

Dusti Booth

Lead Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant

Dusti is the lead Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant at both SCAH and AVSRC. She received her certification from Canine Rehabilitation Institute in August of 2017 and has also undergone training in Canine Trigger Point Therapy. She enjoys working with all patients but especially those recovering from orthopedic surgeries and sports injuries. When she is not helping your pets achieve their rehabilitation goals, she is spending time with her husband and children or competing in AKC conformation events with her Great Danes. Dusti is currently enrolled in the Distance Veterinary Technology program at Cedar Valley College with hopes of becoming a licensed veterinary technician upon completion.

Teresa Richards

Teresa is a small town girl who loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with her friends and family. Teresa is a certified canine rehabilitation assistant. She received her certification from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2017. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 2005 and has always had a love for animals. She spends most of her spare time with her nephew Landon and her rescue Dachshunds, Fred and Francisco. She joined the South County family in August of 2013 and now also works with Dr. Sharp at AVSRC.

Joy Armstrong

Joy has always had a passion for working with animals and joined the South County team in July of 2017. When she isn’t working you will find her enjoying the outdoors by camping and trail riding, along with spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer Bland

Jennifer joined SCAH in March 2012. She has a long history of working with wild animals as a rehabilitator. She has previously worked with 2 other Western Arkansas Vet Clinics during the past 20 years. Her primary focus areas at South County is the CT imaging and surgery. She enjoys the outdoors and photography. Her main animal of interest is the Arkansas alligator.

Christian Huskey

Christian is a small town girl from Huntington, AR. She graduated from Mansfield High School in 2011. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Joshua and her 2 sons, Aaron and Stetson. They live on a farm with cattle and horses. She enjoys going on trail rides with family and friends. Christian has 2 dogs; a Great Dane named Thor and a Labradoodle named Cowboy. Christian went to college for dental assistant and took some nursing classes. She loves animals and started at South County Animal Hospital in March 2018.

Windy Neissl

Windy was born in Jonesboro, AR and now lives in Charleston, AR. Windy is a national certified veterinarian assistant. She is married to Nathan and they have one daughter, Mya. She enjoys spending time with family, outdoor sports, boating, archery and trail riding her horses. Her family also consists of 3 dogs, 1 cat and 3 horses. Her favorite dog breed is herding breeds – she has one Blue Heeler and one Australian Shepherd. She has her lifetime EIA certification from Arkansas Livestock & Poultry. Windy joined the SCAH team in April 2015 and now also works with Dr. Sharp at AVSRC. She is in the process of pursuing a certification as an Equine Assistant.

Jana Pennington

Jana has been with the South County team since 2010. She and her husband, Britt have 2 exotic birds, 11 dogs, and 2 cats. They also breed and show American Bullies. Her love for animals stems from being a daughter and sister to a local veterinarian.

Jeanette Reid

Jeanette was born and raised in Parma, Ohio. She has been in the veterinary community since 2003 volunteering at a clinic, studying Pre-vet at The University of Findlay and working at two other pet hospitals. She moved to Arkansas in the spring of 2014 with her husband and joined the South County Animal Hospital family in June of that year. Jeanette enjoys spending time in the outdoors and taking photos. She is the “mom” to 4 dogs and 2 cats.

Ashley Russell

Ashley graduated from Charleston High School in 2009. She received her Veterinary Assistant certificate from Petra Allied Health in 2012. She has 2 children. In her free time she enjoys camping, fishing, horseback riding, and going on adventures with her children. She has a Paso Fino, Valentino, a husky mix, Ellie Mae, and a lionhead rabbit, Bigwig.

Hunter Smith

Hunter is a home town girl from Greenwood, Arkansas. She has worked at South County Animal Hospital for 6 years and is now a Veterinary Assistant at both South County Animal Hospital and Advanced Veterinary Surgery and Rehabilitation Center. She graduated high school from Hackett High School in 2015 and is now a Veterinary Technician student in the DCCCD Veterinary Technician program. She is married to her high school sweetheart and lives on a farm in Huntington, Arkansas. There they raise registered Shorthorn and Main Anjou cattle, show rabbits, and Pygmy goats. Hunter is a strong supporter of the local 4-H and FFA clubs. She is a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, American Shorthorn Association, and American Maine Anjou Association. She enjoys riding horses, hunting and fishing with her husband, Logan in her spare time. Hunter is very passionate about her work and hobbies.

Karen Weir

Karen joined SCAH in March of 2018. She has had 22 years of veterinary experience working with small animals and exotics before joining our team. She grew up in Midland and still lives there with her family. Her family has two dogs, a pet mouse, and a turtle. She is eager to expand her experience assisting in the area of orthopedic surgery .
